Looking for something unique? Grab a friend and hope for good weather as you head to the Bruce Museum for the 30th Annual Outdoor Crafts Festival on the weekend of May 16-17 (both days 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine).

More than seventy artisans will display their work in ceramics, jewelry, wood, metalwork, glass, paper and more. Items will be for sale and the artists themselves on hand to talk about the techniques they use to create each piece. Sue Brown Gordon, the festival’s organizer, notes, “Patrons love it because it offers an opportunity to interact directly with the artists. You can find something beautiful to take home, and learn about how it was made.”

The festival is held on the grounds of the Bruce Museum at 1 Museum Drive. Admission is $8, through it’s free for members and children under five years of age. It includes entry into the museum for the day. More at
